Maybelline Color Tattoos

Like pretty much everyone else I have some Color Tattoos from Maybelline.

I went more for the neutral colors; I have 05 Eternal Gold, 35 On and on Bronze, 40 Permanent Taupe, 60 Timeless Black and 65 Pink Gold.

Let’s see the swatches.

As you can se the black and taupe are on the matte side while the others are shimmery. You can also see that the shimmery ones go on a lot smoother than the mattes. Honestly I was pretty disappointed, especially with the taupe. It’s impossible to get smooth application and the color creases terribly in only an hour. It’s as if it was already dried up when I bought it – but I bought it back when they were brand new so it could not have been old and it was like that from the start. They are all on the hard side, similar to MAC Paintpots. The shimmers are better and crease less, but they do crease on me as well. I get the best results when wearing them as a base underneath powder shadow.

All in all, they are okay, but far from the best out there. I’m so sad the Catrice cream shadows were discontinued because they gave these a run for their money.

On the plus side, I’ve had them for over a year and a half and they did not change at all. Those that are dry now were like that from the beginning and the creamier ones stayed creamy.
