I won’t be posting on the 14th, so Happy Valentines! Today I’ll be talking about a male perfume, Bottega Veneta Pour Homme EdT. This was released in 2013, and there are already two flankers (Extreme from 2015 and Essence Aromatique from 2016) but this is the original one.
Perfumers are Daniela Andrier and Antoine Maisondeu.
This perfume is strong on the fir trees. It’s got pine and fir in, and the opening is sort of medicinal. Personally I’m not the biggest fan of pine, but I like that’s a headstrong perfume. It’s not a “I want to smell like fresh out of the shower” it’s a “HELLO YES HERE I AM” scent. When the medicinal part fades it gets more herbal. This lasts for a good while until the drydown comes. Then it’s leathery with some patchouli.
Lasting power is okay, I got about eight hours out of it. Sillage is medium.
Basically, this is the perfume for everyone who wants to smell like Aragorn from LOTR. Dark woods, leather, juniper berries.
