I’m not usually one for red nail polish, except for the holiday season. But I can’t deny Essie Lollipop is a glorious color. Shown above are two coats, no top coat. The color is bright classic red with blue undertones.
The nail polish has a jelly-like quality, which means it’s a bit sheer. Still, it was almost a one coater for me; the bit of visible nail line doesn’t bother me. The nail polish is of great quality, easy to apply, not too thin, not too thick, properly pigmented, very fast dry time. What I didn’t like was the brush. You can see up there the bottle says “professional application” that’s because it’s not the regular line, it’s the sort you find at nail salons. As far as I can tell the difference is that those have the old, thin brush. I needed four brush strokes for some nails!
Availability: While the website lists it among the normal lineup, I don’t usually see it on displays. I think it was part of a winter collection many years ago. Last month I have seen Lollipop included in sets at drugstores. They had the same “professional application” writing on the bottle so I think it’s safe to assume it’s the same as mine.
This nail polish was given to me free of charge by a professional nail salon.
